Drywall Paint Technician

Job Summary

  • A Drywall & Paint Technician at Waunakee Remodeling is responsible for installing and finishing drywall to ceilings and interior walls of remodeling projects. They are also tasked with finishing, texturing and painting drywall which can include patching and matching into existing textures.  Some insulation and light carpentry work is required.  They are an essential part of ensuring the job site is prepared for finishing and trim.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Hang, finish, texture and paint drywall for residential remodeling projects.
  • Repair and patch drywall; including matching existing textures.
  • May be asked to perform material take offs from plans or on site.
  • Install insulation, air seal and install vapor retarder.
  • Install cement board onto walls.
  • Touch up paint at end of projects and conduct final cleanup of projects.
  • Make drywall repairs for other departments under the supervision of Carpentry Production Supervisor or other Managers.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Provide and maintain personal tools and equipment and ensure proper and safe working condition of company provided tools and vehicles.
  • Maintain a professional image at all times.


Required Skills

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and an excellent driving history.
  • Light carpentry skills required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in related field  is required.
  • Knowledge of how to use a paint sprayer, and how to apply spray textures.

The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables, scaffolds, and cabinets. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to focus.
  • The offsite physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Regularly requires the use of personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to noise, heights and hazardous materials.
