While getting back into the fully swing of your daily routine throughout the school year, it requires quite a bit of preparation in your home. If you’re not careful, it will fly by and soon enough the kids are headed back to school. Here are a few ideas to help get started.

When kids come home from school, many typically leave their schools and backpack right in the middle of your entryway. To avoid this in your home, we suggest creating a storage spot dedicated for their shoes and backpack which benefits the kids and your personal space.  Hooks, storage cubes and storage cabinets are all good options for organization.

A home’s entryway tends to be a small room in your home that many homeowners use for storing shoes and other outerwear. Keep that area in order so your day is guaranteed to be a success.

This doesn’t apply to just the kids! When you are running out the door, it’s easy to forget the little things such as car or house keys, purse, etc. but by creating a small space dedicated to your personal belongings such as a floating shelf or side table, it will keep you on your feet when you are constantly on the go!

When the school year begins, it also means sports practices are in full effect. If this sounds like your family, how do you store all of that equipment? Tripping over soccer cleats by the entryway and baseball gloves all over the house is not the most organized system for these items. Staying organized and keeping everything all in one spot will be beneficial to you and your star athlete in the house.
