What to do when you get hurt at work

1. Seek Emergency Medical Care

Call 911 if needed.

2. Call Medcor | 1-844-334-6477

  • Medcor can help guide you to get the care that you need. Think of it like a Nurse Line just for work related injuries.
  • This call will also start your workers compensation claim which can speed up payment for any lost work time and payment of any medical bills related to the injury.
  • Even if you don’t plan to seek medical care or have any lost work time right away, you may in the future. Protect yourself and report the injury.

3. Seek Non-Emergency Medical Care or First Aid

If you didn’t call 911 or rush to the Emergency Room, you may still need care. If so, Medcor will help you find the best place to get the care. Medcor can also tell you if you don’t need to see a doctor and first aid is enough.

4. Share how you are with your Manager & HR

    • If you went to a doctor, they will be able to tell you if and how you can go back to work and there are usually 3 options:
      1. Return to work with no restrictions
      2. Return to work with restrictions – HR and Manager will work to find light duty that accommodates the restriction. Goal is to get employee back to work within 3 days of injury.
      3. Need to miss work – HR will communicate with Employee and Manager to get employee back to work per doctor’s orders.

5. Return to Work

HR will work with Employee and Manager to arrange for light duty or full return to work.
